Refine My Results 篩選我的檢索結果
On the right of the search result list, you will see "Refine My Results", they are called facets. By including and excluding these facets (such as date, author, record type, and so forth), you can narrow the search results to get the results you are seeking for.
Filtering Search Result
There are different facets available to help you narrowing or expanding the search results. To do so, you can click the arrow next to the facet.
Under "Refine My Result", click "Resource Type" to refine your research result by the type of materials you are looking for.
For example, if you select "Books", you will find both printed book and e-books in the refined result list.
If you only need a library material in a particular collection, e.g. books can be checked out at Stanley Ho Library, you can use "Collection" to filter the search result.
If you are looking for some course related materials, you can select "Course Name". It will show both the course name and course code so that you can decide if it is the course you are looking for.
The "Topic" facet helps you to narrow down the search results by selecting specific subjects related to your search query. This can help you find more relevant and focused resources among the resources in the result list.
When performing many similar types of searches, you may want to retain your filters for subsequent searches within a search session.
To make a facet persistent, hover the cursor over the facet in the Active filters section and then select "Remember all filters".
